At Phillips Funeral Homes we strive to provide the families we serve with meaningful funeral services designed to celebrate a life well lived. A funeral service can take many forms and should be planned according to the needs and wishes of the individual, as well as his or her survivors.

This information is a broad outline of the types of services we are able to assist families in arranging at Phillips Funeral Homes. It is by no means complete. Our goal is to assist families in coordinating a meaningful and personal funeral service, whatever their needs may be.

Traditional
Services

Traditional services typically include the preparation and dressing of the deceased. A public or private visitation may be held at the funeral home or church. The funeral service would follow at the funeral home or church, followed by interment at a cemetery or mausoleum. Within this basic framework, there are many options for personalization. The type of clothing or jewelry a family selects may have particular significance to them. Favorite musical selections can be used during the service as well as background music at the visitation. Special floral arrangements may be used. Often, families will gather pictures and mementos to display during the visitation and funeral service. Favorite passages of scripture and personal memories can be discussed with your minister for incorporation in the funeral service. There are also many personalization options in memorial folders, the type of casket and vault selected as well as custom panels and corners available on some casket models.

Traditional
Cremation
Traditional cremation services are very similar to a traditional funeral service with the exception of the final disposition. With a traditional cremation service the body is present for the visitation and funeral service with cremation following the funeral service. Following cremation, the cremains may be interred in a cemetery or columbarium, returned to the family, or scattered where the law allows.

Immediate Cremation
Immediate cremation services are arranged for the cremation to take place prior to any services. Family viewing can also be arranged prior to cremation. Memorial visitations and or services can also be arranged similar to those in the “traditional” services mentioned above. As in the “Traditional Cremation Service” , the cremains can be interred in a cemetery or columbarium, returned to the family, or scattered where the law allows.
